Commissioning the mobile electric heating unit
The mobile heating unit can be connected to filled or drained on-site heating systems.
The strongly recommended water for filling the heating system is water treated in accordance with VDI 2035 (Switzerland: SWKI BT 102-01).
The use of this water prevents the heating elements of the mobile heating unit from calcifying prematurely.
Switch on the mobile electric heating unit using the power switch next to the control found on top of the device. Proceed as follows to fill and vent the device:
- Remove the screw cap from the Ball cock feed / drain connection at the return of the mobile electric heating unit.
- Connect the water feed line to this Ball cock feed / drain connection.
- Open the fittings of the mobile electric heating unit for the heating flow and the heating return by turning the rotary knobs counterclockwise (to the left).
- Open - if present - the fittings of the on-site heating system for the heating flow and the heating return.
- Verify that the device and its connections are tight.
- Open the rotary knobs for the water feed line.
- Fill the heating system with water. Make sure that any trapped air escapes from the automatic air eliminator.
- Once the filling pressure (1.6 bar) has been reached and the pump starts running, the LED indicator lamp next to the control will switch from flashing red to constant yellow light. For reasons inherent in the system, the indicated pressure drops by approx. 0.5 bar.
- Increase the pressure further and close the rotary knobs for the water feed line as soon as the device has reached an average operating pressure of approx. 1.6 bar.
- The LED indicator lamp lights up green when the pre-flush time of 2 minutes has elapsed and the operating pressure has not dropped below the minimum limit of 1.1 bar.
- Remove the water feed line
- Screw the screw cap on the ball cock feed / drain connection at the return of the mobile electric heating unit back on.
